Packaging
Pallets
Rolls with widths of less than 20 inches are packed on pallets. Slit rolls are placed on their side in a pallet tray. Cardboard die cuts are inserted between layers; core plugs or posts are inserted to secure the rolls in the package. A corrugated cardboard lid is placed on top of the completed pallet, and the package is stretch wrapped to prevent shifting during transit.
Suspend Packs
Rolls with widths that are over 20 inches, are suspend packed horizontally. The end plates are one inch from the edge of the pallet and cleated. When necessary (most often with extended transit), boards may be attached to the end plates for additional stability. If more than one roll is suspend packed on a pallet, the rolls are banded together through the cores and banded to the pallet in the same manner. The rolls are then wrapped with a cover layer and stretch wrapped.
Labeling
Roll Labels
Every roll has a 1” x 4” label on it. If the roll is too narrow to have a one-inch label applied, smaller labels may be used. Standard roll label information includes: product, gauge, date, operator, slit width and job #. Custom information can be added to the roll labels to meet customer requirements.
Roll labels are placed in the center of the roll and are straight and parallel in relation to the roll. Rolls are placed on the pallets so that roll labels are vertically aligned. Roll labels are right side up and facing outward.
Core Labels
Every roll has a core label and contains the following information: product, gauge, date, operator, master roll # and job #. Core labels are placed inside the core, slightly below the edge of the core and straight and parallel in relationship to the roll.
